Best Brush

Please excuse this grodie looking picture. I love this brush. Emma (my 7-year-old daughter) left her brush at Stephanie's house over the break and so I bought this one for a dollar at the Food Surplus Outlet. It has changed our mother-daughter relationship for the better. It used to be that Emma would scream or cry when I would do her hair in the morning before school. I have curly hair and a tender head and so I have always brushed her hair really gently while holding it so it doesn't pull right from the scalp, but she would still always make a fuss. Since I got this brush she has actually asked me to brush her hair at night because it doesn't pull. I can brush my own hair which is full of tangles without crying as well. I love this brush! If you have daughters that cry at hairdo time I really recommend you get it. I think it is less than $6 at Walgreens. Happy styling!

F.Y.I. about E.L.F.

F.Y.I.- The email and story about E.L.F. make-up getting bought by Nordstrom has been like a three year old urban myth. I had some friends post it like a year ago on their blogs with the same story. Here is what she said:

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I got this e-mail a long time ago and they really aren't going into Nordstrom, everything always is $1, but I like their lip gloss & eye liner. their mascara isn't that good. So partially true, still pretty good stuff, at least the few things that I have tried.

So, the product and price are legit, but the story is false. Maybe it helps motivate people to buy more sooner rather then later. I like that you can read customer reviews about the products.

For you other make-up lovers today is M.A.C. Friends and Family. You get 15% of everything (which is great because nothing is ever on sale) and free shipping. The checkout code is MACFF8. If you love their brushes this is the time to get them!

good, cheap makeup

Hey ladies, thought you might be interested to know that Nordstrom is
buying E.L.F. makeup and repackaging it so they are selling ALL of
their products for $1 each! If you spend $15 you can use the coupon
code CAROLINA that will subtract $7.50(which will cover your shipping and
a little bit more). I just spent $28 and got 18 products including
mascara, lipgloss, concealer, eyeliner, nail polish, and a set of makeup brushes. So here is the link for anyone who is interested:

Eyebrows

Since I have thick, wiry eyebrow hairs, if I make one wrong pluck I end up with a big bald spot. So I decided I should get something to fill in those unattractive bald spots. I found this at Target.

Maybelline Define-A-Brow™ Eyebrow Pencil

It comes in several shades (I got light brown) and I am quite satisfied. Just thought I'd share my fun find.

Perhaps I need to step up my beauty regamine

We have kind of a hirsute family.

Aidan was looking at himself in the mirror and said, "Look, I'm growing a moustache." Then he looked really intensely at my face and said, "Hey, you're growing one too, mom!"

I guess it is about time to bust out the wax;)
