Dream House

Thanks to everyone who participated in the last post, it is so fun getting to know a little bit more about everyone. Here's the next question.....

What would be you're ideal dream house..... That is what style and where would you want it to be. The reason I came up with this one is because my parents have just finished building a house this year and it is more of the Spanish type, and that got me thinking.... if I could build my own dream house, what would it be, and where would I live?

OK girls go for it, let's say money's no object, any place in the world, and any style of house... this does not have to be realistic. Have Fun!!

My dream house would be located by the beach or on a lake, either way it would be by the water. It would be huge with more than one bathroom, maybe it would have an even six bathrooms and six bedrooms, it would be Victorian style, like the house on The Notebook with a wrap around porch. IT would have a spiral staircase, even though it isn't practical for little toddlers. One of the rooms would be a huge playroom for Elianna, another would be a library that would house all the books I would read. I would have a six car garage, we have to have room for our toys and cars. That would be my dream home.

I would probably build somewhere on the beach in Santa Barbara. It would have 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a playroom, and a gigantic great room with a kitchen to die for. The kitchen would have all stainless steel appliances, granite, a back splash with really different tiles, and a 5-6 burner professional cooking range. And the fridge would be big.

The part of the house facing the ocean would be completely windows. I guess this house would have to be 2 stories so the master suite would be on the second floor with a gigantic balcony overlooking the beach. Oh ya, and the lower porch would have a spa.

I would have carpet only in the bedrooms, the playroom and the living room. Something really soft but something that would hide dirt easily. The rest of the house would be in a dark walnut or something. I would have a three car garage so Aaron could some work space.

I could really get detailed but I'll leave it at this.

My house for sure would be on at least an acre with lots of mature trees. Not exactly sure where, but probably somewhere in Utah. I think I would want a country-style home with a big open kitchen with an island and lots of cupboard space. Now, Justin on the other hand, would probably choose a beach house in Southern California. So, in the perfect situation, we'd have both!

Although I love the Mediterranean / Santa Barbara style, but if I thought I would never have to sell the house, my dream would be Victorian. I mean like the kind that belongs on main street in Disneyland. Like the kind in the Pollyanna movie and Disney musicals. I think I might have it built somewhere cooler then Sacramento. We have been to the east coast a few times and I really like the random weather. The main floor would be were most of the living areas would be, only the kids rooms and guestrooms would be upstairs. Inside my house would have all the modern things. Blah blah… big kitchen, lots of rooms, really tall ceilings, a parlor, library, and project room. I would have wood and slate floors with carpet in the bedrooms and game/theater/ playroom. I would have his and hers master baths with a trash compacter in my master bath and lots of random storage areas. At least two -two car garages and a shed. It would be on 1 ½ acres and have a long road/ driveway up to the house from the street with really mature landscaping.
