School Time Snack Ideas

Does anyone have any great school snack ideas? Claire's first grade class is asking for people to just randomly bring snacks in that the teacher can pass out before they go to recess. They need to be something easy and fast and preferably, not sugar. It all sounds great, but I think that the kids are gonna end up with a lot of pretzles and grahm crackers. Anyone have any other great ideas?

Cheese sticks! Kids love them, don't they? My kids also like trail mix, apple slices, grapes, go-gurt yogurt, dried apricots, meat sticks, granola bars, peanuts, fruit snacks (I've seen lots of "no sugar added" kinds, not that I buy them), beef jerky, banana halves, yogurt raisins, and all the unmentionable sugary things. None of these are GREAT ideas, but it's easy to make a simple snack fun by putting it in an unexpected package, like an Easter egg or something.

Thanks for this post. I need some ideas too. I packed a little bag of Goldfish in my daughter's lunch yesterday and she came home and told me she didn't eat them because that is what they've had for a snack everyday and she didn't want them anymore. The only problem is her teacher can't keep fresh or refrigerated food for them, so it all has to be something dry. I was thinking about animal crackers, raisins and cereal, but I ran out of healthy ideas fast.

My kids love those Fruit Island stretch fruit bars. I get them at Costco and they have no added sugar or preservatives. They are yummy and not very sticky...

I think string cheese rocks as a snack and my little one likes Raisins and Cranberries in the little box, sometimes she likes to eat the box more than what is inside. Also grapes are really good for a snack for kids healthy and not messy. Clean and simple is what I like!
