Belly cream

Do any of you have recommendations for belly cream?  I just used regular lotion with both pregnancies but I think I'll need all the help I can get to NOT get stretch marks this time around.  I'm not even sure they work but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Sorry for the bad news but no cream will help. I asked my doctor about it when I started to get a belly and he told me that it is all a scheme-the no-stretch mark creams. I was so dissapointed to hear that. At least I saved myself money on buying expensive creams that wouldn't work anyway. I was told that you are either born with elastic skin or not. Anyway, you can ask your doctor about it but from all the experts that I have been seeing this go round, there isn't anything you can do about stretch marks. Sorry for the bad news.

I kinda already knew that, but I was hoping for something. I've already talked with midwives and they say the same thing. Fortunately I didn't get them with my girls but being prego with twins is a whole different story. We'll see though, huh?

All my doctors have told me the creams don't work either but I decided to purchase and faithfully use it twice daily!!! I figured it couldn't help...

They may not prevent anything but they certainly won't hurt. And my stomach would get so tight, dry, and itchy that a good thick cream felt wonderful on it. Go for it.

I was going to say the same thing as Kirsten, that the cream might relieve some itching. I've always been a fan of the Burt's Bees creams and lotions.

My tummy was itchy too, I used Palmers Cocoa butter formula for strech marks. That seemed to work maybe I was fooled or maybe I just was able to get really fat and not have stretch marks on my tummy? I liked to think it worked. It didn't hurt me, so I think lather up baby!

Yeah- I slathered on the Cocoa Butter prego lotion and have to agree with everyone else. It was nice to avoid itchy tummy, but it did NOTHING to prevent stretch marks. No where's the real question... has anyone tried a lotion that is effective at diminishing stretch marks or are they a hoax too???

Stephanie, I bet if you didn't get any with your other pregnancies you will be fine. Cross your fingers!
