How crunchy are you?

Stephanie's nursing post got me thinking about parenting styles and how different all of us choose to parent our children. Not right or wrong, just different. I lean toward attachment parenting styles and only don't do many of the things that other AP moms do out of laziness. Here is a quiz about how ''crunchy'' you are. I'm kinda hippie and would be more so if I was a little more productive by nature and if my husband was AT ALL, which he's not. He whines that I spend 5 dollars a month on a recycling can when I can just throw all that stuff away for free.

So... how crunchy are all of you.I scored 106 so I'm only kind of crunchy.

That's funny. I got a 51 so I am only sprinkled with granola.

I am sprinkled with granola as well. You would think with my upbringing I would be more granola-ish. Also, they didn't have options like "tried cloth diapers and found that husband wouldn't cooperate and they stunk up the house."

That's okay, Katy. I was only a 75 and I DID nurse my babies only for the first 6 months, I used cloth diapers, my babies slept with me much of the time, I used a baby carrier... etc! However, I scored a zero on the circumcision, vaccinations (because I am absolutely FOR vaccinating children) and on making/reusing feminine products. Hello? We're not pioneers! It was pretty interesting, though.

I'm anxious to see Kirsten's score. She is using homemade natural cleaning products now!

I scored 106. If my period ever comes back I'd consider cloth products. but I don't have heavy or often periods so it'd be way easier for me.

I'm pretty crispy! I scored a 75 too. April I'm with you. I bet we answered the same on most of the questions.

At the other end of the spectrum, I scored a 17. Can I still be a super mom?

Of course. That's funny. I think it's so neat that people are so different when it comes to something like diapering or nursing or eating but can have so much in common when it comes to things that count.

That's right, Kirst! We may feel strongly (passionately) about certain things, but we need to understand that it is our opinion, and our circumstance! I feel strongly about nursing... BUT not everyone else does, OR is able to and... they're still AMAZING moms! There's so much more to mothering than breastfeeding, cloth diapers, or sleeping with your baby! It's about kindness, patience, respect, and being willing to take the time to play and teach. In spite of believing all that... we're not perfect. We're tired a lot of the time, we get sick, and sometimes WE'RE the cranky ones! And yes... I sometimes even yelled at my kids. I always tried to apologize, though. I admitted to being grumpy and frustrated, and told them I was sorry.
