$$ Key Chain Bracelets $$

I'm selling these key chain bracelets at a Salon my mother works at.  They are perfect for the buys mom who always has her hands full.  April and I both have a similar ones that were bought at a beach store in Santa Cruz.  We both LOVE our key chain bracelets so I thought it would be cool if I could make similar ones and sell them.

I've never seen anyone with anything like it so it's different.  People like different.  What I'm concerned with is the price I should sell them for.  How much would you be willing to spend on something like this?

Stephanie, those are way cute! I've used my mom's keys before and it is very convenient to have that. How much did you pay for the one you bought in Santa Cruz? I may not be a good person to ask, because I'm pretty frugal, but if it's less than $10, I'll order one from you.

If I were going to buy one, I would probably spend $10-15. Those are cute and girly.

The ones we got from Santa Cruz were 20.00, but I also had to pay for shipping. I was thinking 12.00 because they cost me 6.00 to make. Is that the right mark up? Katy- you should know what the mark up should be.

Yes, that is probably a good markup. You should display one of them with some generic keys on the keychain, or a sign so it is obvious what they are for.

I have a small square frame I'm displaying in front of the key chains with the name and title. Did you always mark your up 100 %?

No. I don't really stick to a formula, I just do what seems right. Like for baby bows, the materials are cheap, but it takes time, so I take that into account.

These are so cute. How can I buy one?

I can send you one in the mail if you're interested. Just give me your address and we'll go from there. Let me know what one you'd like as they're all different. I can send you more pics too if it'll help.

Just to plug the product... I LOVE my keychain! It's elastic, and SO convenient to have on my wrist when my hands are full! Plus, it's cute and easy to fine! Oh yeah... kids like to play with it, too!

I want one too! Do you have other colors or just those? Right now I keep my keys in my big wallet and it's not convenient to get them out if it's in my bag or I'm holding kids or something. And kids do love to play with them, Gage is always playing with Grammy's. Since I never bring toys with us. :) Huh mom?

Stephani, my email is mical1980@yahoo.com. If you could send me a couple more pictures that would be great!

The colors you see in the two photos are the colors in all the key chains, though they're not all intirely the same. Some also have the silver bead. The second photo with the combibation of beads contain pretty much all the beads I used.

Kirst and Mical - I'll email more pics to you.

I really like them, but would prefer different colors. If you decide to do a different batch with darker or brighter colors let me know and I will buy one.

I know what you mean about the colors. those colors were the only ones I had to choose from. The site I ordered from was limited on the larger beads. I'll keep my eyes open though.

What are the beads called. I'll look around for some too. Could you make them? They look like that clay stuff you bake?

Stephanie said...

You can def. make them. I just haven't looked into it, nor do I want to make the time to make them....yet anyway.

Yes, they're just clay beads. If you find some that are 16mm or higher, let me know. Actually, only let me know if they're cheap. The ones I've found are 1.00 a piece. That's a little more then I want to spend. Maybe when I make money from the ones I made, I'll buy some. I'm sending Mical one in the mail tomorrow so If you want one let me know. Otherwise, I'm taking them into the Salon tomorrow.

Kirst, the clay is called Fimo and you can get it from Michaels or Roberts. There are books in the library on how to make them. My older sister and I used to make them all the time. Probably not as fancy as the ones on Stephanie's bracelets though. They are super fun, but time consuming. It would probably take you a few days just to make enough beads for one bracelet.

Try sites like these for instructions:

That's exactely why I buy them. And I got them pretty cheap too. I just wish I could find the bigger beads for cheaper then what I've found.

That's were I ordered my beads from and they don't have the 16mm bead I want. Thanks for looking though.

It's a sight where people sell their homemade goods. LOTS of cute artsy things there.
