Thought You Might Like to Know...

Target has a lot of cute things in their $1 isles right now. Little wooden toys and wooden puzzles that would be great for Easter Baskets.

I don't know if you're like me, but my kids get enough candy as is. I don't want to get them a huge basket of it. This is an alternative idea.

Should I still put together an Easter basket if my mom puts one together for my girls? I don't want to overload them (although I'm sure they'd love it). I with you on the candy thing.

I love the Target dollar items! I filled the kids' stockings with them for Christmas. It is a great alternative to loads of candy. And Stephanie, I would save your money and just let the girls have the basket from your mom.

GREAT idea!! I agree, the less candy the better. Kendall loves ANY present she's given and I'd rather end up with a bunch of junky toys that I can just toss than have her eat a bunch of junky foods.

I'm with Katy. You don't want them to get spoiled or expect a lot of stuff they don't really need on holidays. My kids usually end up really crabby from sugar overload and the toys just get scattered to the winds.

I think this year we are going to separate bunny easter and church easter. I think we will do the bunny stuff the saturday before so we don't lose the religious part of it all together.

That's a good idea Tara! That's how I feel about Christmas too. I want to make Christmas Eve spiritual and about Christ and his birth and life and then we can do the Santa and presents thing on Christmas morning. I think we'll start doing that too, Easter bunny on Saturday and focus on the resurection on Sunday. I spelled that wrong huh?

I think I read about someone doing it separately in the Ensign. I thought it was a great idea and I feel that way about Christmas too. I also feel like you end up trying to top what you did the year before and that gets really hard to do. I think I am going to try harder to focus more on the fun of activities and history of the holidays than buying tons of stuff they don't need.
